Problem Note 50087: Possible error generated indicating generation group is out of range

Prior to SAS 9.4 it is possible to receive the following error message when using SAS generation data sets:
ERROR: The version number specified in this file generation group is out of range: Current GENMAX value is xxx; current GENNEXT value is xxxx.
When the current generation value is added to the maximum generation value as specified in the GENMAX= option, and the result is greater than or equal to 1000, the internal processing causes the next generation (GENNEXT) to increment by 1001. Further processing of the generation data set then produces the error message as noted above.
This problem is fixed at SAS 9.4.
